Do it for Keef!
The Smiths & Friends at Modern Rocks Gallery!
The other day my phone rang and the voice on the other end was Stephen Wright who took the famous image of The Smiths for The Queen Is Dead. Stephen was looking for the “local Naim dealer” hoping I could supply some tunes for the opening of his show at Modern Rocks Gallery.
Modern Rocks Gallery, who are celebrating their first anniversary, are the only gallery in the US to stock not only the iconic cover shot, but outtakes from that shoot, including a previously unreleased color image. They also have some early live shots of Morrissey and The Smiths, as well as some of Stephen’s other work including live shots of New Order, Madonna, Miles Davis, Prince, John Lydon and Bono of U2.
The Smiths and Friends will be on display from April 18th until May 23rd.
I’ll be playing hits from the 80’s on a vintage “Naim Kit” and Neat Motive SX2 speakers at the opening reception on Saturday, April 18th (Record Store Day) from 7pm to 10pm.

GOBSMACKED!
The Auditorium 23 Hommage T1 step up is taking my breath away! I have the EMT TSD15 cartridge running along with the Leben RS30EQ and CS-600 integrated amp to the DeVore 0/96. WOW! The coolest part is that Germany, Japan and the USA are making beautiful music together!
THÖRESS IN AÜSTIN!!
Coming any day now!!! The long wait is coming to an end! I have no doubt that it will have been worth it! The 300B monos were just reviewed by Art Dudley in Stereophile and were awarded Class A in recommended components. The 845 monos are more powerful! Stay Tuned for a THÖPEN HÖUSE!!
I will have German Brats and Beer on hand!!
Until Next Year…
SXSW RECORD BINGE!
So, my Tetris skills have reached the brink. I’ve run out of room and some records need to go. See that wall? Most (not all, just ask) are HALF OFF!!! See the Island? Those are 10% OFF! Come Haggle, Come Barter (beer always makes me weak). That wall MUST GO!! The store will be getting revamped. I’ll still carry good records, just not as many. Come git ’em!
